Elevate your knitting with cables! As with all our skillshares, this is open to everyone – staff, students and community.

This skillshare is being run by Leonard, President of the student society KnitSoc. Leonard is passionate about knitting and is keen to share their skills.

This workshop will teach you how to make a standard Celtic knot pattern (also known as cable knitting) that can be incorporated in scarves, sweaters, beanies, etc. This technique is extensively used in many of the traditional fisherman’s sweaters from the Scottish islands.

Please bring your own yarn and needles, as well as an extra double pointed needles (or cable needle if you have one). Make sure you are comfortable with knit and purl stitches.
