Fungi Foraging
Another exciting fungi foraging session with expert forager Tony Wilson.
This walk will give people the basics of what to look for in edible and poisonous species, the rules of foraging responsibly – the best way to forage mushrooms without damaging their production – as well as some insights into their biology and ecology.
Walk leader Tony Wilson has 40 years of experience foraging for food and currently manages Bishop’s Wood near Strathkinness, on behalf of the Strathkinness Community Trust.
You can read more about fungi foraging with Tony Wilson here.
We organise foraging sessions so people can get to know their local landscape and build stronger, more meaningful connections with the myriad other species that surround us. You will also, as with all our events, meet plenty of like-minded people.
Meeting point is Tentsmuir Car Park, on the main path next to the Playground. Exact meeting point here. Tony will be wearing a high vis jacket.
£5 adult, £3 child. Payment taken on the day – CASH ONLY. Please note that you need £4 to get through the barriers into Tentsmuir – the money goes towards the upkeep of the facilities.
