We are excited to run another lino printing skillshare, this time with a focus on printing festive cloth wrap for gifts. We will have festive stamps for you to use (and will provide fabric and paper to print on). You will also get the chance to make your own stamp and print onto clothing.

Mya is a third year student, with a huge passion for lino-printing, quirky designs and sustainability. She has her own Instagram page called shrimpyprints which you can check out here. Kathryn is a 2nd year student and a talented artist, and will also be helping out. She has many skills, including a talent for lino-printing.

Both Mya and Kathryn are really excited to share their lino-printing skills, to teach others a really fun and accessible art form. Do bring clothing you already own – if you don’t have anything, there will be free t-shirts to choose from (sourced from the St AndReuse store). Cotton is best. Lino-printing is fantastic for revamping ‘tired’ clothing, personalizing garments and covering up marks and stains. You can also make patches, which can then be used to cover holes and tears.

In this skillshare, you will:

💚Have a go at carving your own stamp and printing onto clothing

💚Create fabric wrap using beautiful festive stamps made by Mya and Kathryn

Adults: £5, Child: £3 (we are paying Mya for her time to make stamps for this workshop and cover the cost of the lino). Card payments or cash taken at the event. Pre-booking essential.

Please note that all materials bought for this workshop have been source from two independently-owned companies – iartsupplies in Dundee and Cass Art (UK-wide).

‘(Re)Made in St Andrews’
We are really excited to launch a new initiative called ‘(Re)Made in St Andrews’, which is exactly what it says on the tin: beautiful and unique, upcycled garments, made sustainably and locally in St Andrews, by YOU. We are launching the initiative with a lino-printing skillshare and we want YOU to join in.

(Re)Made in St Andrews is an open source ‘brand’ that can be used by anyone who wants to get creative with their clothing and take a stand against fast fashion. It is literally a stamp that you can print onto a garment, or can be printed on a patch and then stitched on.

(Re)Made in St Andrews is an initiative that promotes creativity, skills for life, mindfulness, community, and environmentally-responsible slow fashion, as well as making ethical fashion accessible and affordable.

The stamp will be available for you to use at this skillshare.
