Winter Fayre
Our annual Winter Fayre returns to the Town Hall, this year spread over both floors for a not-to-be-missed uplifting festive community event! Our annual Winter Fayre puts sustainable, affordable and ethical gift-giving at the heart of the festive season.
There will be opportunities to:
🎄learn new skills and make your own gifts (using crochet, embroidery, origami, woodwork, denim upcycling, lino printing and more)
🎄buy ethical presents from local artists, companies and charities (for some stalls, it is cash only)
🎄make your own Christmas crackers, cards and decorations
🎄buy tickets for a tombola with a difference: prizes are local business vouchers and all proceeds fund ‘Fulfil a Wish’ festive experiences for local people on low or no incomes
🎄swap or purchase (for just £1) preloved party dresses and festive/winter clothes
🎄pick up free good quality toys and games from our Reuse programme, as well as free Christmas decorations
🎄listen to music from talented people in your community
🎄enjoy food from all over the world
🎄and for children, they can relax in a designated children’s corner to do crafts and listen to stories
And more!
Volunteers are still wanted. Please get in touch!
💚Musicians: to sing or play an instrument of your choice for 5-15 minutes on stage
💚Photographers to capture the best moments
💚General volunteers – decorate the Hall, assist on stalls, set up/ tidy up
We are also looking for donations of good quality winter and festive/party clothing, good condition toys and Christmas decorations. Donations can be brought to the Fayre, or donated beforehand directly to our Reuse store, every Monday and Friday between 11 and 1:30pm. All donations gratefully received to support our vibrant sharing economy and to help make the festive season more sustainable and affordable for our wonderful local community.
