These two short practical workshops will teach you some basic skills for winter pruning of apple trees. With two community orchards in St Andrews you will get an opportunity to prune young trees at Stanks Park and mature trees in the wonderful Old St Leonards school Orchard . Both sessions are free and will be led by Gerben de Vries from the Newburgh Orchard group .
Some tools provided but please bring secateurs and pruning saws if you have them. Wear strong shoes and warm clothes too.
