29 January a group of students and locals picked up 58 kilos of rubbish along Lade Braes and the Kinness Burn!

We picked up 42 kilos of rubbish on Lade Braes in 1 hour! Thanks to students and locals coming out even on this wet winter day & Tansy and Katherine for coordinating & St Andrews Environmental Network/ BID St Andrews‘s David for disposing of our collection! People were keen for another litter pick up on our beautiful path- hopefully with better weather and more flowers! Hope to see more folk then! Also a big thank you to Samantha, KJ, Tina and Kate who did another hour and 16 kilos & got all the way to the Transition Office on East Sands.

11 February Volunteers pick up 26 kilos from Cockshaugh Park down to East Sands along the Kinnessburn!

19 FEBRUARY VOLUNTEERS at the Harbour PICKed UP a whopping 173 KILOS not including the truck full of metal and other rubbish!

We finally got sun and had a great time clearing out the harbour. Thanks to everyone who came out to lend a hand! Lots of sunshine, 4 trolleys, 173 kilos of litter and loads of metal scraps!

FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES:

There is still plenty to do before spring! Winter is the best time for litter picking as the undergrowth has not come up yet….

We is one upcoming opportunities to help Clean Up St Andrews! Come for an hour or two, explore a new part of town, make new friends and give something back to this beautiful town that we live in… Kit will be provided.

Join us to clean up Maidens Rock beach. We will be working with the Marine Conservation Society to do their beach survey. So it will involve some data collection, but the results will be sent off to the Marine Conservation Society and used to influence future government policy. But we need people! Come along for a lovely morning… We will meet at the Transition Office and then it is a 10 minute walk to Maidens Rock beach. There will be some steep paths so wear good boots and warm clothes. Please click going so I can get it all planned.
