What cycle training do you offer?
Cycling can seem scary at times, especially on the road. If you are new to cycling or simply want a refresher there are several things Bike Pool can do to help. If you want to learn to support others and practice your skills we also provide opportunities for that!
We run one-on-one essential cycling skills courses, organise led rides for all abilities and provide plenty of information on cycling in St Andrews. We also run Cycle Ride Leader and Led Ride Assistant courses. Find out how to get involved below.
How can I get involved?

Essential Cycling Skills Course
Want to get out on the roads but don’t want to go alone? Sign up to one of our 2 hour Essential Cycling Skills courses and get professional one-on one tuition. There are 3 levels to choose from: Absolute Beginner, Introduction to On-Road and Everyday Commuter. We can also provide the necessary equipment if you don’t have your own. These courses are delivered through Cycling Scotland, find out more information here.
Join a Led Ride
You can join a led ride as either a participant or ride leader! Participants get a planned route, a group of fellow cyclists at a similar ability level and a competent ride leader. As a ride leader you get to help others progress and hone your skills at the same time. There is also a great social aspect! Keep an eye on our Facebook page and other social media for announcements of led ride times.
Cycle Ride Leader & Cycle Assistant Training
This course covers the skills necessary to lead cycle rides on roads and on recognised cycle paths. Those wanting to become a ride leader should be a regular, confident and competent cyclist and know how to fix a puncture. Perfect for those who want to organise led rides of their own! Find more information here.
