Practical Conservation Officer

Julie is passionate about all things wildlife and biodiversity, and has a background in nature conservation having worked previously with NatureScot at Tentsmuir and Loch Leven National Nature Reserves.

She thoroughly enjoys the practical side of conservation, as well as working with groups of volunteers and getting others interested in the natural world.

She has now joined the University of St Andrews team having graduated from here a few years prior and is happy to be back in this beautiful town! As the Practical Conservation Worker, she will be working closely with the Transition Team delivering the St Andrews Coastal Habitat Networks Project, and also within the Grounds department to help them to manage the University grounds for biodiversity and to encourage wildlife in our local greenspaces.

Her love of nature extends to her life outside work too, often on local walks and birdwatching on her days off!
