Summer Fayre
Open to the whole community, we’re thrilled to be running our first ever Summer Fayre! The theme is simply, ‘How to Have a Sustainable Summer’, with a plethora of activities for all ages where you can learn a new skill, make some fab fashions for the summer, pick up some summer clothes for £1 an item or swap (clothes provided by our St AndReuse store), get some food growing advice and so much more!
We’re looking for volunteers to join in with the fun – for general help or let us know if you have an idea for a stall. We’re also looking for the following donations (to be taken to the Eco Hub at 40 Kinnessburn Road):
💚Summer toys & games (adults and children)
💚Gardening tools/pots/compost/seeds/gloves
💚Travel and walking guides and maps
💚Picnic items
💚Outdoor gear – clothes, shoes, camping items and other kit
We have so many exciting activities lined up. All free and all materials provided.
Here are the highlights:
☀️Open Mic (let us know if you’d like to do some stand up, sing, make a speech!)
☀️Learn how to make a summer skirt and a simple summer dress – fabric provided.
☀️Upcycle some fabric into sunglass cases, fabric sandwich wraps and more.
☀️Have a go at crochet! Make a bookmark for some summer reading.
☀️Learn how to embroider over a tear or stain; make your own clothes patches!
☀️Get some ideas for active, local, ‘give back’ and low cost house swap holidays.
☀️Top Tips for a ‘Sustainable Suitcase’ for whatever trip you’re planning.
☀️Get some advice on growing and foraging your own food this Spring/Summer + pick up some free resources to get you started.
We can’t wait to see you there!
