St Andrews Green Film Festival is an annual event that takes place between the 8th-15th February, featuring a variety of films, themes, and discussions to spark great ideas and actions in our community and wider.
This year we are so grateful to have the support of the Byre theatre so we can share our events in a covid-friendly way. Although our events will be screened online, we have worked hard to maintain the standards of previous years and hope to bring you an exciting week!
To kick it all off, on 8th February, we’re excited to host Shark Girl, directed and written by Gisela Kauffmann, the film that follows the journey of 19-year-old conservationist and filmmaker Madison Stewart. The film is 50 minutes long and will be followed by a discussion with Shark Expert and all-round Shark lover, Greg Holder!
Our feature event, Kiss the Ground taking place on 13th February is an award-winning documentary, narrated by Woody Harrelson, bringing regenerative agriculture to the forefront as a viable solution for the climate crisis. Kiss the Ground with its compelling graphics weaves an uplifting narrative that together we can solve the greatest challenge climate faces.
Our next event, Chasing Coral, will take place on Thursday 11th February, showcasing stunning cinematography of coral in all stages of life. Chasing Coral is a multi-award-winning documentary, directed by Jeff Orlowski and powerfully exposes the silent war that rages beneath the waves.
Our final event Seeding Change is our most-upcoming film, revealing the true scale of global consumerism systemic in ‘triple bottom line businesses’. Viewers will be left feeling empowered, taking action to practice conscious commerce by supporting brands that align with values tackling today’s most challenging issues, not only environmentally but socially and economically.
All our events will be free so come along, all ages welcome!
Don’t miss out and keep up to date with all the events:
