Transition is looking for a new Sustainable Travel worker to promote and facilitate sustainable travel options in St Andrews with a special focus on University staff commuters. Its an exciting position at a time when things are changing rapidly around transport and the relocation of staff.

A key part of the post will be to develop and support a team of volunteer Active Travel champions and enable them to undertake a wide range of sustainable travel initiatives ranging from Led rides, Cycle Safety and walking to the creation of maps and air quality monitoring. They will help to deliver the Universities Travel Plan with an emphasis on promoting smarter travel options including car sharing, cycling, public transport and walking especially at the new Eden Campus site. The post will also support a programme of cycle safety by delivering cycle training, cycle safety promotions and bike security programmes. It will use and develop the “Go St Andrews” travel brand to reach and promote active travel whilst linking and supporting the towns Active travel path network development. 

The role will be supported by the Transition Manager and transition steering group as well as funds from the Smarter Choices Smarter Places grant.

The worker will also be required to work as part of a flexible and supportive team to help fulfil the overall objective of Transition UStA.
